Chad M. Firsel – President


Chad brings considerable skill and experience to his leadership role at Quantum. Prior to starting the firm, he created and managed the investment services practice at Chicago’s Baum Realty Group, Inc. He also served as managing director and established the investment services practice at NAI Hiffman, one of Chicagoland’s largest full-service commercial real estate firms.

His primary focus is achieving the optimal value for clients as he advises them in the disposition and acquisition of commercial real estate. With holistic knowledge and vision of all industry aspects including development, legal processes and financing strategy, he has guided more than $2 billion in retail, industrial and office closings during his prolific career.

Chad’s client list includes institutional owners: Inland Group of Companies, Hudson Advisors, Torchlight, CIII, BMO Harris, RBS Citizens and many others.  Chad also prides himself with his ability to work with first time acquirers from family offices to small and medium sized commercial real estate owners and developers.

His care for the community is just as inspired as his devotion to real estate. Chad currently commits time and service to the City of Hope, one of the world’s leading biomedical research and treatment centers for cancer, diabetes and other life-threatening diseases. In addition, he and his wife, a cancer survivor, were the largest fundraisers for the Colon Cancer Coalition, which supports research for colon cancer treatment. In 2013, they established a new foundation to help prevent and find a cure for cancer.

Chad is also a member of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee and the Jewish United Fund. He mentors future real estate leaders through local universities and nonprofit organizations as well.

Daniel J. Waszak – Executive Vice President


Daniel is a highly trained commercial real estate professional with expertise in financial analysis, business development and transaction management. He adds years of experience with investment services, brokerage and capital markets to the Quantum team.

After graduating from college with a dual accounting/real estate major and obtaining his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, he spent eight years in corporate finance and accounting. Dan’s CPA background provides vital insight into factors that affect the taxation of corporations and real estate investments, such as 1031 exchanges and cost-segregation strategies.

Dan has sold more than $350,000,000 in nationwide property ranging from single-tenant pharmacies and dollar stores to large power centers.

Jason L. Caplan – Senior Vice President


As a Senior Vice President, Jason is an integral part of the success at Quantum – advising clients on acquisitions and dispositions of commercial net-leased properties nationwide.  His client-focused approach to brokerage has earned him an extensive list of repeat clients ranging from REIT’s, Private Equity Groups, to the individual investor.  Prior to joining Quantum, he was a senior advisor at the Chicago office of Sperry Van Ness.

Jason brings expertise in strategic financial planning, cost analysis and forecasting from his highly successful career as a member of both the Chicago Board of Options Exchange and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. He offers clients unique insight and a broad-based understanding of financial markets, providing a level of expertise in the structuring of both portfolio and individual, single-tenant, retail and industrial sale leasebacks.  Jason has also led many ventures with sourcing capital to invest in commercial real estate.

Jason attended the University of Kansas, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance with a concentration in Architecture and Building Design. He has held a real estate broker license since 2004.

Jason currently serves on the Village of Deerfield’s Consumer Relations board. He resides in Deerfield with his wife, two sons and daughter. He is an avid skier, hockey player and paddleball player, and has completed several Chicago Marathons.

Zackary J. Hilgendorf – Executive Vice President


As an Executive Vice President of the Capital Markets Division at Quantum Real Estate Advisors, Inc., Zack Hilgendorf specializes in advising clients in the acquisition and disposition of retail properties nationwide.

Zack’s rare skill set and in-depth knowledge of the nuances of net-lease transactions have proven to be a valuable resource for his clients. His tireless work ethic and willingness to go the extra mile have been the biggest driving force behind his success. He has a keen sense of the critical aspects of every deal which allows him to quickly and successfully take deals from LOIs to closings.

Mr. Hilgendorf’s commitment to his clients has allowed him to close over $500M in sales since he joined the company in 2017. His work has not gone unnoticed as he has been featured in numerous publications including most recently GobeSt’s “Influencers in Retail”, Connect Media’s “Top Broker”, and Top 100 Magazine “Top 100 People in Real Estate”.

Prior to Quantum, Zack worked as a Retail Investment Broker for a local brokerage/investment firm, where he focused on targeting, analyzing, and acquiring properties for the company. Before getting into commercial real estate and while still attending the University of Kansas, he worked at a property management company, where he oversaw all leasing and management of over 300 residential apartments.

Jason R. Lenhoff – Senior Vice President


Jason Lenhoff is Vice President at Quantum Real Estate Advisors, Inc. – advising clients on acquisitions and dispositions of commercial net-leased properties nationwide. Jason is a veteran of the commercial real estate industry having begun his career in late 2000.  Over the course of time he has developed a solid career and reputation with brokers, owners, developers, and tenants. Understanding market trends has always been a key component to Jason successfully leasing and selling an asset for a client. Being able to listen to what is important to an owner, using critical, analytical and creative thinking, keeping informed on market trends, and understanding the mind of a retailer, are a few of the many assets that Jason possess.

Prior to joining Quantum, Jason spent his career working side by side with his father, another veteran in the real estate business, at Horizon Realty Services, Inc. as a Partner and Vice President of Leasing for over 18 years, learning and building within the business.  During his tenure at Horizon, Jason built a deep database of connections in the real estate world, transacting on more than 400 leasing transactions in his career, equating to more than $250,000,000 worth of value to his clients.  This extensive work has afforded Jason the ability to understand all the nuances of real estate.

Jason earned a Bachelor of Art’s Degree in Business Administration from Roosevelt University in Chicago. He is a licensed Real Estate Broker in the State of Illinois, and a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.

Jason currently lives in Wauconda with his wife and three daughters.

Seth P. Gilford – Associate


Seth Gilford is an associate at Quantum Real Estate Advisors, Inc. Seth has a strong background in investment sales of free-standing net-lease properties and financial analysis. Seth maintains an excellent understanding of commercial real estate underwriting and has extensive experience in the, acquisition and disposition of commercial real estate.

Prior to joining Quantum, Seth was an Associate with Colliers International’s Chicago-based Net Lease Investment team where he focused on the disposition and acquisition of single-tenant retail assets.

Seth graduated from Indiana University, Kelley School of Business with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Sales. While there, he was a member of Real Estate Club and Global Sales Workshop. Seth was also committee chair of fraternity Alpha Epsilon Pi while in Bloomington, Indiana.

Claire enhances Quantum’s versatile skill set with her strong background in real estate marketing and account management. Before joining the team, she led the creative and strategic proposal-presentation process for a corporate real estate firm.

She currently plans and implements Quantum’s property marketing. Always exploring innovative, new ways to present options with focus and visual impact, she custom-designs all marketing materials, including a detailed offering memorandum. She also manages the websites, social media and e-mail campaigns for both Quantum and its property listings.
