Chad M. Firsel – President


Chad brings considerable skill and experience to his leadership role at Quantum. Prior to starting the firm, he created and managed the investment services practice at Chicago’s Baum Realty Group, Inc. He also served as managing director and established the investment services practice at NAI Hiffman, one of Chicagoland’s largest full-service commercial real estate firms.

His primary focus is achieving the optimal value for clients as he advises them in the disposition and acquisition of commercial real estate. With holistic knowledge and vision of all industry aspects including development, legal processes and financing strategy, he has guided more than $1.5 billion in retail, industrial and office closings during his prolific career.

Chad’s client list includes institutional owners: Inland Group of Companies, Hudson Advisors, Torchlight, CIII, BMO Harris, RBS Citizens and many others.  Chad also prides himself with his ability to work with first time acquirers from family offices to small and medium sized commercial real estate owners and developers.

His care for the community is just as inspired as his devotion to real estate. Chad currently commits time and service to the City of Hope, one of the world’s leading biomedical research and treatment centers for cancer, diabetes and other life-threatening diseases. In addition, he and his wife, a cancer survivor, were the largest fundraisers for the Colon Cancer Coalition, which supports research for colon cancer treatment. In 2013, they established a new foundation to help prevent and find a cure for cancer.

Chad is also a member of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee and the Jewish United Fund. He mentors future real estate leaders through local universities and nonprofit organizations as well.

Daniel J. Waszak

Daniel J. Waszak – Senior Vice President


Daniel is a highly trained commercial real estate professional with expertise in financial analysis, business development and transaction management. He adds years of experience with investment services, brokerage and capital markets to the Quantum team.

After graduating from college with a dual accounting/real estate major and obtaining his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, he spent eight years in corporate finance and accounting. Dan’s CPA background provides vital insight into factors that affect the taxation of corporations and real estate investments, such as 1031 exchanges and cost-segregation strategies.

Dan has sold more than $350,000,000 in nationwide property ranging from single-tenant pharmacies and dollar stores to large power centers.

Jason L. Caplan – Senior Vice President


As a Senior Vice President, Jason is an integral part of the success at Quantum – advising clients on acquisitions and dispositions of commercial real estate. Prior to joining Quantum, he was an advisor at the Chicago office of Sperry Van Ness.

Jason brings expertise in strategic financial planning, cost analysis and forecasting from his highly successful career as a member of both the Chicago Board of Options Exchange and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. He offers clients unique insight and a broad-based understanding of financial markets. Jason has also led many ventures with sourcing capital to invest in commercial real estate.

At an early age, Jason discovered his passion for commercial real estate while working in his father’s chocolate business, “The Little Red School House” in historic Long Grove. The operation expanded into eight retail spaces and a 50,000-square-foot industrial manufacturing and distribution facility. His direct involvement in this growing business enabled acumen in construction, manufacturing and distribution.

Jason attended the University of Kansas, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance with a concentration in Architecture and Building Design. He has held a real estate broker license since 2004.

Jason currently serves on the Village of Deerfield’s Consumer Relations board. He resides in Deerfield with his wife, two sons and daughter.

Zackary J. Hilgendorf – Vice President


Zackary J. Hilgendorf is a Vice President of Quantum Real Estate Advisors, Inc. Zack has extensive experience handling the acquisition and disposition of single-tenant and multi-tenant properties throughout the United States.  His skill set and in-depth knowledge of the nuances of net-lease transactions have proven to be a valuable resource for his clients.

Zack’s background includes retail development, investment sales of free-standing net-lease properties and financial analysis. Zack has been involved in the acquisition and disposition of over $100,000,000 of real estate in his young career.

Prior to Quantum, Zack worked as a Retail Investment Broker for a local brokerage/investment firm, where he focused on targeting, analyzing and acquiring properties for the company. Before getting into commercial real estate he worked at a property management company, where he was in charge of leasing and managing over 300 residential apartments.

Jack Farritor – Vice President


He began his career in the financial markets trading equity and treasury option derivates in Chicago. As a member of the Chicago Board of Trade and CME Group, he held leadership roles at prominent volatility trading groups such as Peak 6 and Ronin Capital.

Jack’s extensive background in risk management and strategy allowed him to transition into a successful real estate career. Prior to joining Quantum, Jack was a member of the commercial investment team at 33 Realty, Inc. in Chicago. His time at 33 was spent developing their suburban commercial business. This included an all-inclusive approach to each deal where he was in charge of prospecting, underwriting, negotiation, and closing many transactions.

Jack resides in the western suburbs of Chicago with this wife and two daughters.

Claire enhances Quantum’s versatile skill set with her strong background in real estate marketing and account management. Before joining the team, she led the creative and strategic proposal-presentation process for a corporate real estate firm.

She currently plans and implements Quantum’s property marketing. Always exploring innovative, new ways to present options with focus and visual impact, she custom-designs all marketing materials, including a detailed offering memorandum. She also manages the websites, social media and e-mail campaigns for both Quantum and its property listings.

Hope Firsel – Vice President of Communications


Hope brings a professional background including years of consulting and coaching. Hope began her consulting career with Hewitt Associates, providing change management consulting for mergers and acquisitions.  Then, Hope joined FPL Advisory Group to focus on change management consulting within the real estate and the financial services industry. Hope has coached leaders of Fortune 500 companies and is an expert in helping people reach their personal and professional potential. Having helped launch two businesses in recent years, she has a passion for entrepreneurship, branding and communications. In recent years, she has been featured in numerous media outlets as an expert Life Coach and branding expert.

As Vice President of Communications at Quantum Real Estate Advisors, Hope is responsible for branding, public relations and internal communications.

Kush Patel – Associate | Analyst


Kush M. Patel is an associate and analyst at Quantum Real Estate Advisors, Inc. Before joining Quantum, Kush worked with a local acquisition and development company where he oversaw sourcing, underwriting and closing transactions on behalf of this company.  Kush is also well versed in property and asset management. Kush maintains an excellent understanding of commercial real estate underwriting and has worked with programs at University of Tampa and has a degree from Harvard’s Real Estate Finance Certificate program.

Kush co-founded a small business called Cool College Cleaners, a pick-up/delivery laundry and dry-cleaning service at the University of Tampa. Upon graduating with a Degree in Entrepreneurship, he sold the business which turned out to be a success.
